Pølse — Danish hotdogs

Monday or Sunday. Day or night. There you are, wondrous on your bike. Your hair flowing in the wind. You’re soaking up the sun or most probably feeling the refreshing rain on your face. You feel in such a great shape! Nothing can stop you. No. Until you spot them.

hotdogs

Pølser. They are everywhere.

Why are Danish hotdogs so popular?

No words can describe such an explosion of flavours. Therefore, I gladly invite you to visit a pølsevogn (“sausage wagon”) and discover it for yourself.

Not in the mood for some food on the go? Or are you organising a pølser party?

Here’s what you need:

It’s quick, easy and everybody loves them. If easy is boring, challenge yourself with the Danish version 😉 :

Pølsebrød (hot dog buns)
Rød pølse (red hot dogs, the ones for boiling)
Syltede agurker (pickled cucumber)
Ristede løg (crispy onions)
Rå løg (fresh onions)

Ketchup, Sennep (mustard), Remoulade (a tasty yellow sauce with a mild, sweet-sour taste)
